Girlfriends

girlfriends, the duo of longtime friends Travis Mills and Nick Gross, have been captivating audiences worldwide with their infectious brand of pop-punk since joining forces at the start of the decade. Their ever-growing catalog includes their 2020 self-titled debut, 2022’s (e)motion sickness, and 2023’s ‘Over My Dead Body’ EP, showcasing their unwavering dedication to crafting perfectly polished, sing-along anthems. Alongside their energetic releases, the band has maintained a relentless touring schedule, sharing stages with genre icons like Avril Lavigne, Pierce the Veil, and The Used, and lighting up major festivals around the globe. In late 2024, girlfriends returned to the studio with close friend and longtime collaborator John Feldmann (Goldfinger) to record their third LP, ‘THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD’ (via Big Noise and distributed through Virgin Music). This high-energy collection marks both a creative reunion and a new era for the band.
At a time when pop-punk is experiencing a powerful resurgence, ‘THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD’ stands as a celebration of the past, present, and future of the genre. The album’s sixteen hook-heavy tracks, including the soaring “GARBAGE”, the urgent and emotional “LANDSLIDE”, the nostalgic “1999”, and the California love letter “WEST COAST”, capture girlfriends’ signature mix of melody, mischief, and heart. Drawing on their shared memories of growing up in cul-de-sacs and attending Vans Warped Tour, a dream they realized by performing on its stage this past summer, Mills and Gross channeled their friendship and youthful spirit into every note, with their audience in mind.
