Sgt. Papers

Sgt Papers is the punkrock duo of brothers Ivan and Felipe Garcia from Hermosillo, Sonora, in the heart of the desert in Mexico.

They started in 2017 releasing their first album “Sgt. Papers Lonely Psych Punk Band” independently, creating a big buzz in the local independent rock scene and the independent scene in the US.

This gave them opportunities to start touring in Mexico and the USA, not only in indie clubs but also in festivals.

Later on in 2019, they released a second album called “Me Hiciste Brujeria”, which got great reviews and gave them bigger shows and a bigger audience in the local scene.

At the same time that the band was growing, the rock scene in Hermosillo started to get recognized for their local talent, where Felipe and Ivan collaborated as producers, promoters of other projects such as Margaritas Podridas and Señor Kino. Felipe is a well known producer and engineer and has his own studio called Onda Sonora in Hermosillo which has recorded bands such as Margaritas Podridas, Señor Kino, Necromorfo and other new indie rock bands.

Their second album “SGTP” was released through Devil in the Woods, getting great reviews and making their audience grow internationally.
They are well known as one of the best new local rock bands in the scene, and are one of the few rock punk bands to be able to tour the US independently.

Their new album “FUGA”, fully produced, composed, mixed and played by them in their own studio in Hermosillo, will be coming out in November through In the Red, and is supported by a US and MX tour with shows supporting Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Osees and festivals such as Brujas Festival, Festival Calaveras, Muertos de Dia and brand activations with Mezcal Tinieblo and Miller Light.

The band will be releasing new music in 2026.
