Tungas

Tungas is a Mexican punk rock band formed in 2005 in the Lindavista neighborhood of Mexico City. More than a band, Tungas is a story of friendship: six friends who found in music a shelter, a shared language, and a way to grow together. From the very beginning, the project was never about fame or competition, but about building something honest between them.
Guided by the DIY (Do It Yourself) ethic, Tungas built their path by playing wherever they could, organizing their own shows, traveling together, and growing a community around their music. That journey took them across Mexico—from Tijuana to Cancún, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Mérida, and many more cities—and beyond, with shows in the United States, South America (Argentina), and Central America (Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua).
Every place became part of their story: long drives, packed rooms, and a scene that grew alongside them. In 2018, they released their latest studio album, *No Nacimos Para Triunfar* (*We Were Not Born to Win*), a statement of their values and outlook on life.
After several breaks, they reunited in 2023 for two sold-out farewell shows at the legendary Foro Alicia, followed by one final performance that same year at Mexico City’s Punk Rock Fest. In 2025, Tungas returns for a special one-time celebration of their 20-year journey—not just a reunion, but a celebration of everything they built together: songs, miles traveled, mistakes, laughter, and a friendship that has outlasted scenes, trends, and time.
